How the transfer to an Agafay camp works
Pickup in Marrakech or at the airport
The driver comes to your hotel or villa, or to the nearest gate if you stay in a riad of the medina. From Marrakech Airport he waits in the arrivals hall with your name and drives to the desert without going through the city.
The road and the track
The car leaves Marrakech by the road to Amizmiz and Lalla Takerkoust. After about half an hour the tarmac ends and each camp has its own track, a few kilometres long. This is why the name of the camp matters more than an address when you book.
Lunch, sunset dinner or a night
For a day at the pool or an evening with dinner, book the return with the outward trip and choose the hour: the driver is at the camp at that time. After a night in the desert, the car can take you back to Marrakech, to the airport, or directly to Essaouira.

How long is the drive from Marrakech to Agafay?
Between 45 minutes and one hour, depending on the camp. The desert starts about 30 km from the city and the last kilometres are on tracks.
Can I come back to Marrakech the same night?
Yes. Tick "Add a return trip" in the booking form and give the time you want to leave the camp. There are no taxis waiting in the desert, so the return has to be booked in advance.
My camp is not in the list. Can you take me there?
Yes. We drive to every camp and lodge in Agafay. Choose "Agafay" in the booking form and write the name of the camp in the next step.
Can you pick me up at Marrakech Airport?
Yes. Choose Marrakech Airport as the pickup place and give your flight number. The driver waits in the arrivals hall with your name and drives straight to the camp.
Does a normal car reach the camps?
Yes. Our SUVs, minivans and minibuses drive the tracks to the camps all year. After heavy rain the track is slower and we plan more time.
