What is the Marrakech Comedy Festival?
Marrakech du Rire was created in 2011 by the comedian Jamel Debbouze and became the best-known French-language comedy festival, with a gala filmed for television in Marrakech. After a pause of several years it has been announced again under the name Marrakech Comedy Festival, with a new team. The programme and the dates change from one edition to the next.

Time of the year: June. Length: a few evenings. The organisers announce the exact dates and the programme of each edition: check them on the official site of the event before you book flights and rooms, then book the transfer for the same dates.
Where it takes place in Marrakech
The gala evenings of Marrakech du Rire were held in the open air at El Badi Palace, in the Kasbah, with other shows in theatres and halls of the city. Check the venue of your show on the ticket: it is not always the same.
Getting to Marrakech for the Marrakech Comedy Festival
Marrakech Menara Airport is about 6 km from the centre. With the taxi from Marrakech Airport to the city, the driver waits in the arrivals hall with your name and takes you to your hotel or riad in about 15 minutes, from 19 € per car. On the days of the event
For a show at El Badi Palace the car stops at Place des Ferblantiers, 2 minutes on foot from the entrance. Shows end late and thousands of people leave at the same time, so a return booked with an hour and a meeting point saves a long wait.
